SB ILP Staff Peer and Family Assistants (PFA)

PFAs are former foster youth who work for Children and Family Services (CFS) to assist current foster youth/young adults ages 16 to 21. PFAs provide ILP services and support while assisting foster youth/young adults with their transition to becoming self-sufficient adults.

Young adults

PFAs are former foster youth who work for Children and Family Services (CFS) to assist current foster youth/young adults ages 16 to 21. PFAs provide ILP services and support while assisting foster youth/young adults with their transition to becoming self-sufficient adults.

  • Making phone calls and reaching out to ILP participants
  • Informal mentoring to ILP participant
  • Involvement in the creation and facilitation of ILP events
  • Participation in Child and Family Team Meetings (CFTMs)
  • Assisting CFS staff, youth/young adults and caregivers by:
  • Completing referrals for Extended Care Services
  • Providing information about resources and programs
  • Completing National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) surveys.
