Peer and Family Assistants
SB ILP Staff Peer and Family Assistants (PFA)
PFAs are former foster youth who work for Children and Family Services (CFS) to assist current foster youth/young adults ages 16 to 21. PFAs provide ILP services and support while assisting foster youth/young adults with their transition to becoming self-sufficient adults.

- Making phone calls and reaching out to ILP participants
- Informal mentoring to ILP participant
- Involvement in the creation and facilitation of ILP events
- Participation in Child and Family Team Meetings (CFTMs)
- Assisting CFS staff, youth/young adults and caregivers by:
- Completing referrals for Extended Care Services
- Providing information about resources and programs
- Completing National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) surveys.
